With cost of feed being a major factor in the overall cost of production, it is imperative that those engaged in the training of nutritionists and animal producers give trainees adequate knowledge and skills to make informed decisions. This paper shows how to formulate a least-cost diet in linear programming. The computer output is discussed and the importance of proper interpretation of the sensitivity report is particularly emphasized based on Microsoft Excel® Solver output format.
