    Microbial control of arthropod-borne sickness
    Author(s): Maltz Nicolas*

The host biology of arthropods is profoundly influenced by a wide variety of microbes, including vector competence. Furthermore, symbionts can be designed to deliver particles that restrain microorganisms. Microbes have developed strategies that make horizontal or vertical transmission to conspecifics easier because of their close relationship with the host. These characteristics make microorganisms appealing specialists for applied procedures to control arthropod-borne infection. In order to lessen the impact of pathogens like the Zika, Dengue, and Chikungunya viruses as well as the Trypanosoma and Plasmodium parasites, recent advancements in microbial control strategies are the subject of this article. Additionally, we point out areas where additional research is required.. View More»
