Patriarchy is a system of society where women are largely excluded from all aspects of society and men hold the superior power. This article explains about the different perspective of same problem faced by women and to a great extends speaking about women emancipation. What makes women a weaker sex and paved way to the rise of dominance and violent activities in the society? In olden days women were house arrested, they felt diffident and also as a shameful creature. Only by saying women were considered equal to goddess, but they can’t self-sustain their equality, veneration and their basic entail. The ancient practices are unfair and wicked on the part of the haughty male population to continue denigrate and enslave the female population which leads the domestic violence into a cruel and brutal ways. A woman has to face violence in one form or the other throughout her entire lifespan, be it from her parents, her husband, later in life by her son and other relatives. The adjusting mental behaviour of women and feeble thought process ends to dominance. The mythical and superstitious beliefs about women results to domestic violence and the play of dominance increased in society. Should not blame on those erroneous characters for giving them the power and dominance, blame yourself for being voiceless. Only when there is a attitudinal change in the society with regard to womenfolk, treating them with proper respect, dignity, fairness and equality. Domestic violence involved women and children in human trafficking, forced sexual assault, forced prostitution. It is rated that 35% of a women worldwide experience physical and sexual violence by intimate partner and/or non-partner in their lives, which leads to depression, having an abortion and acquiring HIV. A study found that men who witnessed their fathers abusing their mother in any of the way were more likely to use domestic violence in their adult relationship. Domestic maltreatment can seriously harm children and women. The victims of domestic violence are physically, emotionally, psychologically abandoned. Children who grow up with violence in the home will learn to avail violence in their intimate relationships to dominate others and might even be encouraged in doing so. Let’s keep the facts and figures aside. It might seem to be a lesser percentage but even if domestic violence is one percentage in the whole world, this needs to be addressed and eradicated completely.
